My son has a best friend. She turned 4 recently, so there was a great excitement over the birthday present. Because her latest favourite princess is Rapunzel, my son decided that we have to give her a doll with long hair and a Rapunzel dress.

Being a good mother (or trying to give the illusion at least), I researched the topic, then dug deep in my fabric boxes and came up with a mood board for our ‘Project Rapunzel’. I was supervised by an eager, 5-year-old perfectionist during the works. Everything had to be just right. Eventually, the  completed cakebox contained a doll in her PJs, a Rapunzel dress, a pair of lilac colored shoes to match the outfit, a tea set for two and a set of quilted bed linen with a seashore theme.

Finally, we elevated it to the height of the occasion with the use of a dark pink satin ribbon (which got a loud approval from the Birthday Girl later) and it was ready to go!
